Honored at Elon

On Dec. 2, 1950, Elon College opened Alumni Memorial Gymnasium, which is dedicated to the memory of the Elon alumni and students who gave their lives in both World Wars.  The dedication ceremony took place during a basketball game between Elon and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Alumni Gym, as it is often called, has a plaque at the entrance to the court which lists the names of Elon men and women who perished in the two conflicts.  Dewey Hooper's name is on the plaque.
