After the Fire
This photograph depicts the first ever commencement under the Oaks, held on Tuesday May 29, 1923. After the fire of 1923 destroyed the Administration Building, the auditorium where previous commencement ceremonies were held was gone as well. Thus, a new tradition was born to bring the school year to a close under the oak trees which are such a prominent aspect of Elon's history.
